Story: Ain't Too Proud is the electrifying new musical that follows The Temptations' extraordinary journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. With their signature dance moves and unmistakable harmonies, they rose to the top of the charts creating an amazing 42 Top Ten Hits with 14 reaching number one.


The rest is history — how they met, the groundbreaking heights they hit and how personal and political conflicts threatened to tear the group apart as the United States fell into civil unrest. This thrilling story of brotherhood, family, loyalty and betrayal is set to the beat of the group's treasured hits, including “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Get Ready,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” and so many more.


Duration:  2 hours and 30 minutes, including one intermission.

Audience:  Recommended for ages 13 and up. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted.

Late Seating:  There are 2 late seatings in Act 1: 9 minutes and 21 minutes after the show starts. Entry then permitted only during intermission.


Tour will Arrive into NYC approximatly 11:00am to you give you plenty of time for lunch and to get to your seat in the theater.

Wheelchair Access: Wheelchair seating available. Theater is not completely wheelchair accessible. There are no steps to the designated wheelchair seating.

Restrooms: Accessible restrooms available.

Accessible Seating: Fifteen row-end seats with folding armrests.

Coat Check: This theater provides coat check.

The Imperial Theatre was built by the Shuberts in 1923 and is still owned today by the same organization. It was designed by Herbert J. Krapp to house musical comedies and, with its large capacity of 1,650 seats, had been the pride of the Shuberts for decades. Over the last 80-plus years it has been home to many Broadway legends such as the original production of Gypsy with Ethel Merman and more recently, Les Miserables.Recently the Shubert Organization had the theater completely refurbished, and it continues to house many of the most successful shows on Broadway.

Late Seating Policy: Don’t be late. More and more shows are not allowing late seating, which means you’ll have to watch the show on a monitor in the lobby until intermission (or for the length of the show if it’s only one act).

Concessions: Bar offering soft drinks, water, wine, beer and basic mixed drinks. They also offer some snacks, which are allowed into the theater. Drinks are also allowed as long as they are in a closed container.
